The Tufts 10K - talk about girl power! It is the largest all women 10 K event in the North East and it couldn't have been better!!!

Where to start...Sunday night sounds good.

After a wonderful weekend with my whole family (my 3 kids, niece, 2 nephews, brother, sister in law, father, husband etc) at Story Land it was finally time to get to work on prep for the Tufts 10K.  I was given the opportunity to have a table at an amazing event with over 7000 women as well as to have our MIM flier in the race bags (yippee! for us) - this was an opportunity of a lifetime!  I prepped balloons, lollipops, fliers and other treats until I my hands stopped working around midnight then off to sleep for a few hours until my drive in.

Here is where the amazing part of the story starts...I arrived on the Boston Common at 6am - in the dark. unpack my car, turn around and who do I see...Kristin Kinsella (coach of the Reading Mass Team)!  "Good Very Early Morning Sunshine!" I say and we are off to races!!  After a long morning of tying balloons, cutting fliers and taping lollipops to info cards runners are finally arriving.  It was amazing, I spoke about Moms In Motion to hundreds of women who lined up to hear my "elevator pitch" about what we do and who we are.  People were 5 deep looking over eachothers shoulder and going to get their friends to hear what we were all about.  I still have chills at how many women said - "I seem to see your guys all over the place lately and you all seem like you are having more fun than the rest of us!"  It's pink flower power, I'd tell them and they all want to be part of it.

Calling all women...thinking about starting a team...go ahead...do it!!!!   Thousands of women out there are dying for the chance to be part of something amazing.  We need eachother, trust me, without Kristin by my side I would have been frazzled.  It was an amzing experience to work with another team and see MIM though their eyes.  Watching another coach in action and planning out future events to do together was so much fun.  So all you East Coast Teams...look out for some new members...I mentioned you all my name at least 50 times each yesterday for people who were looking for teams.

So...in an exhausted heap on my couch last night - I raised my well deserved glass of red wine in toast to Krisin Kinsella for being an amazing leader and team player.  I raise my water bottle today to all of you leaders who are bold enough to empower these women to put themselves on life's priority list and to all of you who are members of our amazing organization because you are women and that ladies is amazing enough!!!!

I must go now - still smiling - still a little sleepy and put my little ones down for nap and clean up from yesterday...a mom's work is never done :)
