Some Thing are Just Meant to Be

Back to Blogs

For years now I had been racking my brain on a way to keep myself involved in the community and with other women and mothers - to no avail I have to say and lets be honest some of my small adventures began with lots of excitement and quickly fizzled out in complete failure. ok the seemingly constant onslot of children I kept giving birth to, did thwart a few things but the reality is that all of these things sounded good but none were right for me!

I love my kids - who doesn't? and I am truely blessed to be a stay at home mom (even on the really bad days!)  but seriously I have some difficulty with having given up my whole life and education to play i-spy, clean up the millionth art project, teach 5-3 and 1year olds how to share, speak nicely and otherwise express their emotions as to not end up in time out, etc. etc - the list goes on!  At one point in my life and career I was at the top of my field, I have a Masters degree and I love my career but how in the world was I going to get back to it?  Hit head against the wall again...stop children from bickering...continue to hit head...phone rings...finish hitting head on wall.  So...getting to the point...I was about to start my own stroller fitness company when I came across Moms In Motion.  I went through the website, hummm, I need to call for more info, Jamie and I spent a while on the phone having a half interrupted call with our children in the background that truely changed my life - Thanks Girl!  Thank God I could stop hitting my head - here it is...I found it.  Yes strolle thing out eh window.  So why this blog?  I feel lucky enough to have found MIM and I can't wait to share it with the world.  After meeting with Jamie and Michael on their trip to Boston I now serve as the National Marketing and Public Relations Director, and my Local Team has it's first practice tonight.  I am thrilled, fulfilled and overflowing with excitement.  My family is having to adjust to my new schedule and the fact that I am not MOM 24/7, I am now woman - and I am ready to ROAR!!  Ladies, this is the best!!  I have regained my place on my families priority list whether they like it or not and I feel like me again - a smart, strong, happy, well educated woman, wife and mother...it is a feeling I am dying to share!  Please take a moment out of your crazy life to appreciate who you are (or were for that matter) and embrace it, hold onto it with both hands and show your family that the woman you are is just as amazing as the wife and mother they already know.  If you are already part of a MIM team - rock on!  if you are thinking about joining - take a step toward yourself...you are closer than you think...it will be the best thing you have ever done for yourself!

Congratulations on finding MIM!!! My sister started our Southern Maine team about a year ago and I think I speak for all of us when I say it's changed our lives. (There are now more then 50 of us!) Not only has our health changed for the better, but I think as you say our families now see us as independent, capable moms who make it a priority to look after ourselves and take care of our own needs... and still have plenty of time to love our husbands and kiddos as much as we ever did. I hope your first practice went well! I'm sure your whole team is ready for a great season!! Strong inside & out, Lynda
Wow! Good for you!

You deserve the best that life hands you. I too was in marketing before quiting to be a stay-at-home mom - new to the gig. Having a tough time finding myself, but hopefully I'll get on a path like yours.

What Are Your Thoughts?
