Philanthropy & Causes
Each one of our Moms In Motion® Teams supports a local philanthropy in her community. Raising money, volunteering time, or supplying items of need provided on a charity's wish list are all ways Moms In Motion® helps!
Giving back. That's what we do. As a community of women, we know that in lifting those in need, we lift ourselves, our families and our world. Together we can make a difference!
Moms In Motion has been named an “official” training partner for the Susan G. Komen Marathon for the Cure® program. We are very excited to join efforts in eradicating a disease that undoubtedly has touched each one of us in one way or another. Komen is also a ground breaker in tying in women’s fitness and fund raising through the.ir nation wide 5K and 10k events and their 3-Day Walk for a Cure event. Komen added another fitness related program 2 years ago called Marathon for the Cure® where hundreds of people have walked and run ½ and full marathons while raising money for Breast Cancer.
The Santa Barbara Triathlon Team will piggy back the event's charity partner, the Santa Barbara Foodbank by hosting an Encore showing of the Western States 100 mile trail running race, Unbreakable. Our showing will be held at the Maritime Museum Auditorium and attendees will enjoy beverages/appetizers. All proceeds along with collected canned food will be donated to the cause.
WHAT IS A FOOD BANK A food bank is a non-profit organization working to eliminate hunger by providing food, education and other resources to a network of hunger-relief charities and their communities.
ABOUT US The mission of the Foodbank is to provide nourishment to those in need by acquiring and distributing safe nutritious foods via local agencies and providing education to solve hunger and nutrition problems in Santa Barbara County.
